You have clicked on the Dinner link, so it is safe to assume that you want dinner recipes. Thus, you have come to the right place. Below are some recipes for dinner that you can make for yourself in the night(assuming you eat dinner in the night). Here are a few good tasting dishes from Food Network:
For this first dish, we will be making Pan-Fried Cod with Slaw. You will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard, plus more for serving
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon caraway or celery seeds
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 head light-green cabbage, thinly sliced (about 6 cups)
- 1 small carrot, shredded
- 1 gala apple, julienned
- 1 bunch scallions, white and green parts, thinly sliced
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 6-ounce cod or other white-fleshed fish fillets
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cracker meal or crushed saltine crackers
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Kosher salt
- Vegetable oil, for shallow frying
With these ingredients, lets get started:
- Prepare the slaw by mmixing the may, vinegar, mustard, sugar, caraway seeds, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and pepper to taste in a large bowl.
- Toss in the cabbage, carrot, apple, along with the scallions
- Cover and refrigerate this.
- To prepare the fish, mix the egg and milk in a bowl
- Add the fish(cod) and wait for it to soak
- Meanwhile, mix the flour, cracker meal, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt onto a plate
- Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Take out the fish from the milk mixture and put it into the flour mixture
- Turn the fish around and sort of coat the fish in the flour mixture
- Fry the fish in the oil that should be hot by now
- Do this until golden, as each side should take around 2-4 minutes
- Drain the oil by covering it with a paper towl
- Season with salt and pepper if you want
- Eat with the slaw and some extra mustard
For this next dish, we will be making Lobster Mac and Cheese. You will need the following ingredients:
- Kosher salt
- Vegetable oil
- 1 pound cavatappi or elbow macaroni
- 1 quart milk
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, divided
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 12 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated (4 cups)
- 8 ounces extra-sharp Cheddar, grated (2 cups)
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1/2 pounds cooked lobster meat
- 1 1/2 cups fresh white bread crumbs (5 slices, crusts removed)
With these ingredients, lets get started:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
- Drizzle oil onto large boiling salted water
- Add pasta and cook. Abide by the directions on the package
- Drain the pasta well
- With this, hea tthe milk in a saucepan, but don't quite boil it
- Melt 6 tbspoons of butter
- Add flour with the butter
- Cook on low heat for 2 minutes
- Occasionally stir it with a whisk
- While whisking, add the milk and cook for a minute or two
- Do this until thick and smooth
- Off the heat and add the Gruyere, Cheddar, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and nutmeg
- Add cooked macaroni and lobster, and stir well
- Place mixture in 6 to 8 different dishes
- Melt the rest of the butter
- Combine with fresh bread crumbs, and sprike on the top
- Bake for 30-35 minutes/sauce is bubbly and macaroni is browned.
